If you are an X-Men fan and Comic Collector, then this item is just for you. You may have a copy of the X-Men #1 comic book, but chances are this item is not in your collection.
This is the "X-MEN #1 - Jim Lee Limited Edition Gold Hologram (gold variant)".
This hologram is a promotional item distributed in very limited quantities to comic book retailers only in 1992 based on their initial orders for the landmark 1991 X-Men comic book series, but mostly because of the over 7 million copies sold of X-Men # 1 making it the number 1 comic book ever sold at that time.
It is a holographic image of the eight member X-Men team going after Magneto. It was hard to get a picture showing the hologram. but it came out ok, considering.
It is in perfect (mint) condition with all corners in pristeen shape, no folds bends or scratches. Any smudges that you see are on the plastic and it has been in a plastic wrapper and kept pressed since I aquired it in 1992 from a friend who owned a comic book store. That makes this item almost 22 years old !!
I have looked around and found a few, mostly on Amazon, but I can not believe what they want for it. I guess when there are so few, the prices go way up.
