These lovely creations are based on the legend of the rumored enchanted...some say "haunted" ...jewelry of Madame Louise de Budos, the second wife of Henry I, Duke of Montmorecy, commander of the French armies.

Her marriage to Henry didn't go well and the neglected wife was said to have many secret meetings with a mysterious stranger. One evening they were spied locking themselves into one of the rooms of the chateau and the very next day Louise was found dead...her head twisted so it was facing backwards and an odd smell of sulfur hung heavily in the air.

These earrings and necklace are "replicas" of the ones found in her boudoir jewelry chest (along with an enchanted ring that supposedly had supernatural powers to obtain the love of anyone desired!!)

The background picture is of the Chateau de Chantilly where Madame Louise lived...and died.

The earrings and necklace are handcrafted from gold toned filigree bases, with dark red crystals and sparkly red glass beads on a handmade ornate chain, and gold plated French ear wires.

You will receive the one pair of earrings and necklace pictured. They come on a lovely presentation card in case you wish to give then as a gift.
