The listing, SHAKESPEARE MANTIS spinner reel has ended.
This is a fine spinner ball bearing mantis mno30rt. with easy cast included. it has a balanced rotor. everything seems to work fine. i actually bought this a few weeks ago on lisita in an auction. the thing is i won the Abu Garcia Ambassadeur Anti-backlash 5600AB for 40,000 credits and will not need this one .Works like new (fast retrieve) 4.9:1 holds about 120 yrd.6 lb. test.super nice mid.sized spinning reel I paid 9700 for this reel so i will gin it to break even including the cost of the gin. the gin fee is 1100 so i receive 9900 credits any questions please ask joey if you want better pictures i got my camera fixed and will provide whatever you want just ask.
sure the difference is the amount of line or yards for fighting the fish. i love to surf fish off the coast. i have another reel this size i use all the time with 8lb test. most fish i catch are 1 to 4 lb but every once in a while i hook a shark or sting ray. in fact last year i did just that and the fight was on with the drag etc . he finally straightened the hook out . a guy in a condo was watching me and the fight of about 5 min and told me he saw the ray it was a spotted ray with a 3 ft wing span. that fish had a wad of power. i had plenty of line to allow the drag to work and the reel was the same size and the fight was a ball. think about how far you cast i use a 1 oz sinker usually and throw it quite a ways. when bass fishing i like plactic worms and cast them about 1/4 the distance of the 1 oz sinker. so for me personally i love the smaller reels and light long 7 ft rods and the whole darn experience. wow i got carried away there. hope i answered your question . joey
you could use 10lb or even 12lb you just get to put less line on the reel the model number is on the reel and listed above you might be able to look it up and it usually tells you like 4lb 150 yds 6 lb 130 those are examples as i really do not know on this reel. i just fill them up and fish btw i am 68 and learned fishing when i was 8. in hollwood fla.
hey joey if you get my reel in time i am interested in bidding on this as a matter of fact i will probably gin i need a smaller spinning reel for crappie fishing f&w and i hope i get my credits in time.
