Actually the top andetal bottom go to something else... the blue glass jar is what you get with someones ashes when cremated.....

Ya.. the metal is to an old salt shaker but the glass isnt... its to new.... back then the glass for the shaker was whorped... like old school windows.... couldnt see through clearly. And google keepsake cremation necklace and youll find those

I think you'll find it's actually from the days of writing with quill and ink. Small shakers just like that would be filled with powder and shaken over the written page to absorb excess ink. Very cool!
