I couldn’t get a good picture of the stamped which is stamped 14k….this was a wedding present and it’s been put away and never worn since then. Love, pearls and gold don't hold smells in them. and since these have been packed away, there's no chance that they could even be nicotine stained. ^_^ wish I had the credits... I'd get them for My mom! LOL

Awww, thanks love! Even though I put that this does come from a smoke and pet friendly home, I have had a couple people left me messages saying it smells like smoke! However, they looked back and still gave me positive feedbacks, so it was very sweet of them! Thanks for the information on types of pearls :) Would cultured pearls be considered simulated then? I think most pearls in the market are cultured but nowadays the terms cultured and freshwater are (wrongly) used interchangeably. Saltwater pearls, I assume, are not cultured..

There are not only 3 kinds of pearls.you also have salt water Japanese pearls, the most expensive of ALL pearls. Genuine. Still watching, bidding also!

if there are knots in between the pearls they are most likely freshwater. if they are not uniform in size then they are most likely freshwater... if they are perfectly round and heavy, they may be "simulated pearls" which doesnt mean faux pearls it means simulated - grown in oysters until they are a specific size. means completely fake - glass or plastic or resin.... so there are 3 types of pearls - Freshwater, Simulated and Faux

Are these real pearls? You can check very easily,run across your teeth...if feels like sand they should be real,smooth usually fake. Thanks f&W
