She's put aside all the ingredients and drawn up a picture of the cake she plans when her stepmother calls her to make lunch. While Cinderella serves lunch, her stepmother spots the drawing in her pocket and agrees that Cinderella may make a cake, but only after she cleans the entire house AND after her stepsisters have made their own cakes. The jealousy and selfish behavior of her stepsisters slows things down, but eventually they've got one cake made to enter together and Cinderella, with far fewer ingredients than she'd planned, must make a much smaller cake. Her friends help with some fresh items. In the morning, however, the stepsisters manage to ruin their own cake while fighting over it, forcing Cinderella to offer to share her cake. They scoff at the puny cake, so Cinderella enters it alone. Though it doesn't win the big prize, she does win a special award.
