I'm not sure what this item is

I know i have had it a long time

It was my grandmas; i found it in her coin purse and just added it to my jewelry collection , over the years it has just sat in my box

i figure now is the time to auction it so some lucky listian can figure out what it is made of and maybe they might know what it is

if yall have any questions i will answer them to the best of my ability

I believe it is an old medicine/ herb grinder made of some kind of stone. If it is what I think it is it would have had a bowl to put the herbs in and crush the with this piece. I could be wrong but hats I think it is.

It docent look like shell. And shell would not be strong to use as pestal . It really looks like marble. But good luck with it some one is going to really want it for the unusualness of it.

Yeah it's a pill crusher , it's old , if you couldn't swallow pills then you'd crush them in a small glass and add a liquid , I've seen old nurse/nanny pictures with them wearing these
