That is neat. I was going to get into sewing but it is hard without a sewing machine and the know-how to do it. Can you tell me? When you cut out a pattern for sewing does the pattern already have the seam allowance included or do I need to add for seam allowance? It is a vintage pattern if that makes a difference.
Most modern patterns do including seam allowance and they also print the finished garment measurements for you right on the pieces. For vintage patterns it's a bit trickier. Do you have the original envelope? It should say on there if allowance is included. Generally anything from the 50s on up tends to have allowance included, especially if it is a well known company like Simplicity. From my experience anyway.
