Description

The listing, Mexican Art I, II, III by Tudor Publishing has ended.

The art of Pre-Columbian Mexico which these books portray came into existence at the end of an evolution unknown to us that lasted for millennia. The chronology of archaeological relics goes back as far as 1500 BC. These books describe art up to the Aztec Empire, roughly 1300-1521. (Volume 4, which deals with the Aztec Empire, is missing from this set ) In 1521 the Spaniards arrived, when the Aztecs were attempting to bring all of the civilizations in Mexico at that time together. The Aztec civilization was destroyed and old Mexico became New Spain. These books deal with the art before that time. Each with 24 pages. 4.25 x 6 inches. Tudor Publishing Co/. New York, 1968. All in Very Good condition.
