beading- the hole goes parallel down the middle- but you could also use them in Mixed media, or whatever you'd like. I have a pair of earrings I've made out of them: http://www.etsy.com/transaction/10746997 Actually, I made a few pair in different styles- but I also have others who have bought them to use for texture in mixed media art- I haven't tried that yet, but plan on it :)
