Description

The listing, vintage japan jewelery box has ended.

Vintage, beautiful patina made in japan trinket, jewelery box, 3 1/2 inches long, very heavy, no damage to red velvet or silver-metallic outside, has japan tag on bottom --has breath taking ornamentation around the entire piece, just wonderful--not just an ordinary listia give away, I expect some reputable bids on this- I can at least verify I received it from my grand mothers friend some years back- and she was in her 80's, will be happy to answer any question, will ship -USPS 2-day priority/comes with tracking and insurance- please look it about well and research it too before you bid!! I have been told it might be pewter, silver, plated etc. I really don't know- maybe someone out there will recognize it!!

Put a magnet on it. If it's either and it doesn't stick it's one of them. If it sticks it's a general metal F&W

Look, I don't want a fortune, It's a cool piece, I think it needs a good home for people who might like this sort of thing-- It is really quality and well made, I will be lucky to gain enough credits to mail it!! The boittom only says JAPAN , I could do this on e-bay--or maybe you can look that up ya self,

will when I get a chance, (am real busy with mardi gras)! well Lundi gras for now!! the world kinda stops around here for our favorite Pagan holiday! But I can tell you it has an inscription carved in a little box type over lay that clearly says JAPAN, I got an e-by store and have decided to put this on listia instead because my 13yr. old likes to bid on x-box games, there are similar ones up now going for about $15-$30 + shipping, it is a heavy -well made item, and really quite attractive, have not spent too much time investigating because it is mardi gras around here and almost every one (including myself) is at the worlds biggest free party!!

I have one of these little boxes. It's pewter, not silver. On the back where it says japan on the edge, is the an M incased in a sideways diamond sort of shape? I have no idea what the M means, but I do know that it's not a Japanese box, it's just made in Japan. There is a difference I'm afraid. Also, I believe these are from anywhere between the 40''s - 50's. but I wouldn't swear to it. I don't think they are any older. Yours is a little more elaborate than mine with that 1800's era setting. I can assure you though it is not from that time, it's just the chosen decoration. It's very nice, by the way. Good Luck to you. Hope this helps you answer some questions

I use to love the parades in Slidell. My friend lived in Mandeville. I haven't been since Katrina. That was so upsetting. I miss Madi Gras. I know ya'll are having fun.
