Questions & Comments
First off. Melody...I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your son. NO PARENT SHOULD OUT LIVE A CHILD!!!!! 2nd MaryAnn, was it? (Lady to 1st comment) You should have been taught about the practice of taking pictures of the dead for families years ago in a history class. From Junior High through High School. But to own these pictures now, depending on quality, and other factors, they can be VERY valuable!!!!! But to harass this lister is not right. If you don't like it. Keep your opinions to yourself and move on. There are plenty of other auction's of Listia for you to look at!!! Melody is grieving just as you HAVE....Only her's are a lot more recent. She doesn't need people jumping her case because she owns a piece of actual history. We all should be so lucky to own any true HISTORY from so long ago!!!!!!
Marylee.. these pictures were taken back when often the only photo someone had of their loved one was by a mortician. It was very common to have a mantel full of postmortem photos of children, your husband, and family. You seem like a very uneducated person not to know about this part of history. As it is usually common knowledge.
Again I have to repeat..... Wow, I can not believe how uninformed some people are. This was the only way the parents had to remember their beautiful baby after they died. Most people back then did not "own" a camera, so there were not 100 pictures taken BEFORE the tragedy happened. There are still photography companies today that do this type of photographs. Good luck on your auction!♥
To me its weird. That's why I clicked on it. Its something I don't see everyday. Its also sad to know that that is the only some people had a picture of their baby. Fanned you.
It's so sad to see these pics. Don't get me wrong. I wish you best of luck in selling them for a good price. I just can't help to be saddened by seeing babies who died so young...and their parents. I'm sorry for your loss and MaryLee's too.
