The listing, Three Vintage Color Military Cartoon Linen Postcards - Curt Teich & Co, 1940s has ended.
I am pleased to offer for auction today on Listia these three fascinating and historical vintage postcards from the 1940s. They are in fair to good condition, and are blank, having never been mailed. They would be great for scrapbooking, papercrafting, or ATCs; or for the collector of historical items or militaria.
The first postcard features a U.S. Navy Sailor and reads, “Sailor boy! We’re all thinking of you! Gobs of good luck!” This one has a piece of transparent tape across the top (short side) and is creased, as you can tell from the picture.
The second postcard is from Curt Teich & Co., and features a “C.T. Air Corps Comics” picture. “Keep ‘Em Flying!” is on the top and “OFF THE BEAM” on the bottom. This one also has tape across the top (long side). On the back is printed “Genuine Curteich-Chicago “CT Art Colortone” Postcard.”
The third is “Nautical, but nice” and features a Navy boy and his main squeeze. This is also from Curt Teich & Co. This also has tape across the top. My mother-in-law collected postcards back in the 40s and 50s, and she taped them into a scrapbook: thus the tape. It may be able to be removed without damaging the postcard using Goo Gone or one of the scrapbooking adhesive removers available from craft stores.
The last picture shows a vintage picture that will be added as a bonus.
Please don’t hesitate to ask if you would like more pictures or details. I am no expert in vintage postcards so any info you have would be welcome! I ship free to Listia verified addresses in the United States. Thanks for looking, and have a Lovely Listia experience!
