Offered is another original 7/8" World War II era sales tax token of 2 mills. This one is made of hard red plastic with very clear readable embossed letters and numbers.
The front obverse and reverse are the same with the reverse being upside down from the obverse front side.
This red coin type numbered 2 sales tax token was used as change during transactions in Colorado. Colorado had a 2 percent sales tax from 1935 until 1945.
These 2 mill tokens were used when tax was less than a penny for sales less than 49 cents.
The tokens were typically issued in aluminum or plastic.
It has two concentric circles in the middle and reads COLORADO SALES TAX TOKEN on each side with the number 2 at the center within the two concentric circles.
