The listing, Gillette Adjustable 195 "FATBOY" has ended.
Date Stamp is D-4 1958-last quarter
Razor Date Codes began in 1951 and used the same system blades had used since 1931, a code that identified the year and calendar quarter of manufacture. These codes are found on the underside of the guard mechanism, or in cartridge razors, near the attachment mechanism for the blade.
Gillette 195 Adjustable "Fat Boy"
This razor is a precursor to the Gillette Slim adjustable. The Gillette company used the name "adjustable one-piece razor" or "195 Adjustable" on what has since been dubbed the "Fat Boy" (this model). The blade adjusting dial has 9 clicks and is located at the top of the handle. The name 195 indicated the original sale price of the set, $1.95, see picture.
A variant, with the adjusting dial at the bottom of the handle, was also made. The Gillette company labeled most or all of the "Fat Boy" editions as "195 adjustable" as indicated on outer shippers and instructions. So "195" is not a unique name for either version.
