The listing, UNIQUE MAGNIFYING GLASS has ended.

I'm giving up this unique magnifying glass because I saw an item I hope to win for my husband. I'm not sure what the cats and the handle are made of, ivory, bone or maybe soapstone, I am just not sure but the carving of the cats is beautiful as well as the handle too. I picked this up at an antique mall years ago and I don't have any other information about it. Happy bidding!

Hello! The total length of the magnifying glass and handle is 7 1/2 inches. The glass by itself is: length 2 1/4 x width 3 inches. The handle is approximately 5 1/4 inches. Thanks!

Your right Timothy, there is a small chip there. I was so busy looking at the beautiful handle, I missed it. If you had the right tools I believe it could be easily buffed out. It is very small and unless your looking for it, not noticeable. Thank you for bringing that to my attention. :)

Hello! I am just not sure what the handle is composed of. My grown son's guess is Mahogany. My guess was first Ivory, then bone. It could however be a plastic I suppose. I am just not qualified to say for sure. What I can say is that it is well made and the detail is minuet and great. Also, there are no chips or cracks in the handle at all. I guarantee that. There is however, a little to much glue used and a small bit is on the lens just above the cats. I'm sure that can be taken care of easy enough. F&W :)
