Box contains the following information about the ‘36 Ford automobile’s history: “‘36 Ford: In 1936, if you wanted an economy car with a fast powerful engine, you bought a Ford. The smaller six-cylinder engines of competitive cars in its price range did not offer the rapid pick-up or the exhilarating speed of Henry Ford’s totally mass-produced, low-priced 85-90 horsepower eight-cylinder engine - the V8.

Although Ford placed the emphasis on refining the engine, other features of the 1936 Model 68 showed marked improvement. Prospective buyers discovered it was a quieter car than earlier versions - made so with sound deadening material installed inside, a driveshaft that produced less noise, and expanded use of helical gears to include low and reverse as well as second and high. They found it was easier to steer and sleeker, too. The longer hood, deeper fenders and more pointed grille gave ‘36 Ford drivers the chance to leave other cars in the dust with a little more style!”
