Up for bid is a still shrink-wrapped Pampered Chef Corn Butterer. These go for about $12.95 at their parties. It was a gift, but we already had a corn butterer.

"Just place 1/2 cube stick of butter or margarine in spreader and glide it over the hot corn, pancakes, muffins, baking pan, or whatever you need to butter or baste....if butter is still left, includes cover and put in fridge til next time!"

It really does eliminate the mess! And I think it's a nice thing to stick in a gift basket for a bridal shower (I always like to give a bunch of useful things that one wouldn't necessarily think of).

No, the stick of butter is placed inside of it so that only the end shows, and you just run it along your ear of corn (pancakes, or whatever), and your hands stay free of any mess, and unlike a knife, the butter doesn't slide off. You can store any unused butter in this holder because it has a cover.
