Description

The listing, AB Necklace, Earrings & Bracelet Set has ended.

This costume jewelry set is absolutely gorgeous!!! The pictures don't come close to showing its beauty!

The necklace is about 17" long & has 11 ribbon-like links. The top "strand" of the ribbon has 7 AB stones crossing over the bottom "strand" that has 6 blue stones. The silver toned setting is antiqued & the piece has a locking style clasp. There are no marks on the necklace that I can find, although it is an obvious set with the earrings (which are marked).

The earrings are post style & a little over 1" long. There are 14 AB stones (7 on each side) & 2 blue stones in the center. Each earring is marked J.H.S.

The bracelet is for a small wrist; about 7" long stretched open. There are 5 flowers - each one has a center AB stone & 5 blue stones for the petals. The flowers are separated by leaf ribbons - there are 6 & each one has 4 blue stones. The bracelet is also marked J.H.S. It has the locking style clasp. I don't know the real term for this type of clasp - I'd appreciate it if someone would comment & let me know what it's called.

I am so frustrated that I could not take pictures that really show how these stones sparkle & shine! It is SO beautiful! If I can get better pics, I'll add them.

I purchased this set between 8 & 10 years ago in the Dallas Asian Market area. Although it is costume jewelry, this is not a "cheap" set - the quality is fantastic. The stones have never discolored and none of the jewelry changes your skin color. There are no stones missing.

To the best of my knowledge, this is not real silver & the stones are probably rhinestones. I have worn this set several times. As always, please ask questions. If you want more pics, please let me know.

Of course, all Listia rules apply; the set is sold "as is". No GIN is available - I don't have that option yet. Free shipping in the United States to verified address only - actual cost everywhere else.

Thank you so much for looking and happy bidding!

Really tough question! I'm not an expert or anything!

Jewelry has to be 20 - 100 years old to qualify as vintage and 100+ years to be considered antique. All my vintage jewelry was received from my grandmother - she died 15 years ago and was completely housebound for over 15 years before that. Her jewelry is all 1970 or earlier (mostly earlier).

I try to Google all the pieces before I put them up for auction. I usually find similar pieces being sold on eBay & get a lot of info there. If there are any marks on the jewelry, that will help a lot! Sometimes, I never see the mark until I start taking close photos and ... WOW ... there it is!

Vintage jewelry is all in the details. Vintage necklaces will have beautiful decorative clasps; brooches will have long pins and the fastener type is a pretty good hint. Earrings can be harder, but again the fastener is important; screw backs are no longer common, clip backs can be filigreed, etc.

If you have a piece you're not sure of, Google it and see if you can find a similar piece. I've had a lot of luck learning how to tell vintage by searching for "how do I tell if a brooch is vintage." There are LOTS of really helpful articles out there!

I hope this helps some!
