Five Canna seeds. These seeds were the by product of 100 Cannas on my property-this past summer. The flowers are bright red and have 2-3 blooms. They are between 4' to 7' high. Grow in full sun.
How to Grow Cannas From Seeds
Cannas are typically grown from rhizomes, but they can be grown from seed, as well. Because canna seed has a hard coat, some preparation is necessary before it can be germinated.

Scarify the seeds in January. Take the seeds, one by one, and rub the ends of the seeds on the sandpaper until you can see a small section of the white layer.

Place the canna seeds in the glass bowl. Cover the seeds with warm water and let them sit for 24 hours.
