Description

The listing, PREHISTORIC MEGALODON TOOTH! FREE S&H! has ended.

-MEGALODON SHARK TOOTH-

The megalodon was the largest, most fearsome predator in the ocean, a bully to even prehistoric Great White sharks. To date the megalodon is the largest shark to have ever lived!

This is your chance to own a piece of the extinct beast. The winner will receive the exact tooth pictured. It is about 1 5/8 inches from root to tip. I have pictures of it in my hand to give a general idea of its size.

PLEASE READ!

• I ship FREE to the continental United States. I do charge for International shipping, however, because I just can not afford to pay for it myself.

• I only ship to Listia verified addresses. If you can not fulfill this basic requirement, please do not bid. It is very easy to get verified and only takes a few minutes. If you win this auction and are not verified, I can not send the item and will NOT refund credits. The auction will be re-listed.

• All Listia rules apply. If you have any questions feel free to ask. Thank you for viewing my auction and happy bidding!

Is this the tooth of the Megaladon? If it isn't I'm not interested in a shark tooth, I'm sorry, please give me measurement on the tooth and I will look up what the tooth should look like. Thanks. Nikki.

The winner of this auction can send the tooth back for a credit refund if it does not meet their standards. You will have a week from verified delivery to make your decision. That is how sure I am of its authenticity.

Ummm no! You should do some actual research instead of relying on tv. The discovery channel also did a mermaids documentary that they later called a spoof. That's why I look at actual scientific evidence instead of taking someone's word for it.

This is most likely from a juvenile because of its size. I hope you at least know that there were babies and they weren't all just born fifty feet long with 6" teeth.

Chelsealgilmore is not an expert. If you don't like what you see don't bid. I never even thought that authenticity would be an issue. Please look on eBay or a general Google search. There are quite a few of them around and they are usually between an inch to 5 inches in length. The larger they are the more they are worth because they are harder to find. Megalodon sharks did not grow 'hundreds' of feet. They were 2 to 3x as large as the great white at full size.

Most definitely not a Tiger Shark...they have a very distinct strong notched distal edge.

Just to clarify.....Fossil remains suggest that this giant shark reached a maximum length of 14–18 metres (46–59 ft) The most common megalodon fossils are its teeth. Diagnostic characteristics include: triangular shape, robust structure, large size, fine serrations, and visible v-shaped neck. Megalodon teeth can measure over 180 millimetres (7.1 in) in slant height or diagonal length, and are the largest in size of any known shark species...and teeth in the upper jaw are wider than lower teeth. The lower teeth tend to be narrower than upper teeth. They have a dagger-like shape and the root has a deep V shape

I bid 10,000 and I don't want it so if anyone wants it go for it, I only wanted it if it was in fact what it was listed as, not trying to be mean but I have so many teeth from sharks I will probably list them all together just to get rid of them.

I mean Chelsea not nikki. Sorry. I am just irritated at people who don't know what they are talking about ruining my very legit auction.

Never mind the measurements, I can tell straight away that one of the largest predators in the dinosaurs history's tooth would have never been that small, please retract my bid, I have several sharks teeth already. I would when listing and your not sure what it is is to state that you think it could be a -----. Thanks. Nikki

I will remove this auction if you are the high bidder in the end and repost it with Wikipedia pics added to show people that everything 'expert' nikki said was incorrect. Then I will get 3x the credits as you bid now.

No, sorry. If you do a general search it will show teeth like this one.

Have you even looked this up or are you just guessing? I wish grade school level scientists would not ruin my very real MEGALODON tooth auction!

This is most likely a tiger or great white Megaladons would be several feet at the least

This is just a regular prehistoric shark tooth Megaladon was a 100ft shark so his tooth would be too big to even hold in your hand. Cool auction though!

I wish I could still post more pictures. I would show you a regular shark tooth next to this tooth to illustrate the difference.
