The listing, Hand Forged Damascus Hunting Knife USA has ended.

Ok Friends, this beauty has been forged by yours truly!! With over 13 years experience forging steel, this damascus knife has been forged with pure heart!! Damascus steel forged from D2 high Carbon Stainless Steel with 2% nickle. This Damascus is 460 layers of steel. If ur not familiar with Damascus, Google it, it is awesome!! I forged this knife into a Hunter and it measures as such: cutting blade is 3 7/8" long. Handle is approximately 3 1/2" long. Knife is tapered and is a hearty 3/16" thick at the plunge line "Guard area". Overall length is 8 1/8" long. Etched in Ferric chloride, this is a ladder twist pattern. Knife has been sharpened so it is ready to use. Please email with any questions. Free shipping

Very nice, I am using a Peter Wright 115 lb forged anvil. This anvil is dated mid to late 1800s. Found in an old barn in South Dakota 15 years ago, the guy had two of these, one was very used and mine was kept as a spare I lucked out, should have bought both at the time, but didn't , me bad.

If you ever have a chance to go to quadstate in Troy ohio, I highly tecommend it. Its the midwest's largest blacksmith xonbention and you can honestly find anything and everything to do with smithing for unheard of prices. They have a huge blacksnith flea market as well as a weekend full of classes and demos. Even an auction and art gallery. I wouldnt miss it for the world.

Thats awesome.you got so lucky. I've forging for over 13 years now. A true passion ofine for sure. Back in 2004 i built a full scale replica of a peach tree and donated it to a local town. Its all steel finished in a copper patina. I also sell a line of patinas that instantly change the surface of steel. GOLD, COPPER, AND BLACK. if u search on youtube for Magicsmith.AVI or magic smith patina or Magic Smith.AVI, you can watxh a video of the copper patina working on steel. Its a cold application. Been selling it to blacksmiths and blade smiths for over 8 years. Awesome stuff. To bad ya didnt live in michigan, we'd probably be able to forge together at a MABA meeting or a hammer in ;)

Well, yes I still forge. I have a 175lb forged trenton thats pre 1900 and I my 125 lb Mankel that is cast with the face "bed" that has been forged welded to it and hardened. My Mankel is only 10 years old and I Love em both!! Im a member of MABA which is "Michigan Artist Blacksmith Association". A great bunch of people for sure. I go to Quadstate every year in Troy, Ohio and also the Blade show in Atlanta, Ga each year as a vendor. I re-enacted in Jackson Michigan back in early 2000 as a blacksmith for the Battle of Shiloh. That waa pretty cool.

Very nice work. Did a lot of this back in the day. How many folds would you guess you have in it. By the way, love those mini axe heads. I just bid on one.
