Ok, There is lots of controversial opinions about coins minted for the Republic of Marshall Islands. While they are actual legal tender, they were actually minted by private mints in the U.S. for sale to private collectors. Serious die hard numismatic coin collectors like myself, my husband and many other people here on Listia have a poor opinion of private mints who mint these coins for the sole purpose selling them to people who basically know nothing about numismatic. HOWEVER, they are legal tender and anyone has to admit that they are beautiful coins although the will NEVER increase in value in the numismatic world.

Regardless, they are still very beautiful coins. This particular $5 coin commemorates Great Britian's clash with Hitler's Luftwaffe. Marshall Islands were a key battlefield of WWII.

This coin is in brilliant uncirculated condition. It's a large coin which weighs 27.5gm with a diameter of 38mm.
