Up For Auction is a Toshiba Satellite M45-S265 Intel Centrino Mobile Technology (which Means it has all Intel Parts including the WIFI) 1GB Ram expandable to 2GB 1.6GHz Single Core Pentium mobile Processor Intel 915 chipset. 80GB HDD Dual Boot With Windows 7 and Windows XP. Windows 7 does not recognize the older 915 chipset so the only thing not working in Windows 7 is the video card but luckily Windows 7 has it's own standard drivers so everything is g2g. Windows XP everything is working fine. Extra Software installed Microsoft Office 2007 and McAfee 8.2 Security software. Other Hardware DVD R/W Multi-drive. Not being sarcastic but ALL windows 7 both 32 and 64 bit require 2 gigs of memory to run I build these things for a living and it will run on 2 gigs you are totally right about the memory u can only max 1 gig sticks on ddr but ddr2 you can do 2 gig but the computer will run on 2 gigs of memory which if I win it will be the very first thing I will do is upgrade to 2 gigs Ive done 1 gig by mistake 1 time and it was on an intel duo processor and it was slow as a snail luckily it was ddr2 and I upgraded to 4 gigs real fast but gthis will run on 2 gigs does it have dual core or single core you didn't mention and Im watching

I hate to disagree with you but I have been building and repairing computer systems since 1991 and if you go here http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/products/system-requirements you will see that I am correct that windows 7 minimum system requirements is in fact 1GB of RAM. Having so much fun watching you 2 battle it out but if you both work on them then you would also know that as for xp, none of this will even matter cause very soon xp and all products for xp will be obsolete and you would have to get something else, my ex was Microsoft certified tech and so is my tech I have who is my dear friend they both said as faar

Actually There are some merits to keeping older operating systems some older software isn't compatible with newer ones like Windows 7 and 8. And windows 8 is not the best OS at all... only about 28% of computers are running it. That is a very low number. Windows 7 is far better and much more user friendly.

Please be honest here, can I add more memory to this computar so I can play a few games and add like 100 gb, and this sounds pretty damaged, is it fast and is eveyrthing working fine? Ive been looking for a free laptopfor months and I just need to be sure this one will wprl for a few games

Yes you can add up to 2GB of Ram to this laptop but it is going to cost about $45 to do it 2 each 1GB DDR SODIMM They are rare. Under windows XP you should be able to play older games with not much of an issue. It has the older style PATA Laptop Hard drive so max Disk space you could find would be around 120GB-160GB not really sure if they made any higher. This Laptop is from 2006 it is in good to very good shape everything works Not sure where you think it's pretty Damaged from my description. The only issue is when booting to windows 7 there are no intel 915 Graphics drivers only the Standard Windows 7 drivers. Under Windows XP all Drivers work fine.

OHHHHHHHHHH forgot to tell u this is the one I told you I loaded windows 7 in and found out it only had 1 gig of memory but it uses ddr2 it is 32 bit and was SLOWWWWWWWWWWWWWW but it flies now I won this one on listia

Also this is a Dual Boot to Windows XP Pro SP3 so if you need to do something more quickly that is available to you also. The Windows 7 Pro installation is a bit slow but not that slow. Also you get Office 2007 on both installations of Windows. So if your a Poor coledge student at least you can wright a paper on a reliable system. (just get the $40 battery first before you start that paper).

Yeah I was hoping when I got this system that it was one of the HT M processors but it's the lower end single core. Not saying that it couldn't be upgraded a lot of them can take the Dual even though they shipped with the cheaper processor.

I dont know how you got windows 7 installed on 1 gig of memory when it demands a minumum of 2 gigs for installation but this laptop should be upgardable to 4 gigs of memory if there are 2 slots which usually there is but it will run very slow until there is at least 3 gigs installed

If you Look very closely to my description and pictures you will see that it's 32 bit version of windows 7 and the 32 bit version only requires 1GB of RAM. Check your facts before you post. And did I mention that it is only upgradable to 2GB of RAM because it uses DDR not DDR2 or DDR3.

Depends on the game really if your talking about a PC version of angry birds probably if your talking about any up to date FPS then no way. Facebook games no problem. Go to Google and Look up Intel Graphics m915 and it will give you the specs. That is also the Chipset of the Motherboard.
