It attaches to the two front seats to keep them from wondering into the front seat of your car. It creates something of a soft wall to deter the animal.

We need this so bad! Yesterday, our dog almost got us all killed by making that jump into the front seat!!!! Will just have to leave the puppy home.

That's why I think this is a perfect product. I watch a women get rear ended because she was distracted but her pup that had climbed into the front seat and was running around on her lap while she was driving.
