Here today, we have a beautiful START for this spring with HOSTA. These are GREAT plants for that SHADY SPOT on your porch or deck. I recently bought several of these to fill a large pot I have and went a wee bit overboard with my buying. SOOOO, I have decided to share a couple.

The start (ONE) you are bidding on, is in Photo # 1. I have it in a glass of water, until it's ready to come and live with you. The plant is what I deem as a LARGE start...from tip of leaves to bottom of roots is approximately 10 1/2" (PHOTO # 2) The root ball alone is approximately 4 1/2" long PHOTO # 3. This is a beautiful and healthy plant--and a great start to LOTS MORE.

Mature height is approx. 36" tall and 26" wide-- they are a CLUMPING plant. They are PERRENIAL---which means they come back year after year---and are O.K. down to 40 below "0"!! The only trick to Hostas is the fact that they like really bright light and quite a bit of water--BUT NOOO DIRECT SUN. You MUST have a shady spot to plant them in the ground, or a shady spot to place the pot in!!

This start will be shipped with it's root ball wrapped in wet paper towel, and that wrapped in plastic---to keep the paper towel moist. I will wrap the whole start in bubble wrap and it WILL be shipped in a BOX to help protect it from abuse in the shipping process.
