Description

The listing, Vintage Depression Era Red ROLL GARTERS by Coronet on ORIGINAL card sz large has ended.

Extremely rare on the display card this pair of red rolled garters are straight from the Depression Era. Made by Coronet. They were worn by folding the welt of the stockings over the elastic and rolling tightly down. They were made from an elastic core with a woven exterior of cotton or synthetic threads. The method of wearing "roll garters" to hold up a lady's stockings was popular from the mid 1920's to the WWII Era of the 1940's. Many women still wore them until the early 1950's until they changed to the more comfortable garter belt.
As expected after so many years the cardboard for this red pair has suffered bent and softened corners. The right side of the card has been torn and taped - but for the most part the card is still intact and a real prize for your collection of vintage clothing items. The garters themselves look VERY good and appear to have had very little wear.
