Questions & Comments
Thank you my wife had one just like it, but it was stolen from her. So I think it would be of more significance on a personal level then a monetry value really hope I got this one.
Not according to the manufacture but if you have experienced problems with metals before , it is suggested that you only wear stainless steel, 10 or 14k gold, or rhodium plated metals. Note that leaves out sterling silver too .
What kind of metal is the ring? I got one a couple of years ago and they said it wouldn't tarnish or anything, but they lied about the metal that it was. I just need a new ring, and this one looks exactly like my ring! You have no idea how happy I was when I saw this auction!
It was sold to me as white gold filled. I have sold a lot of rings made from white gold filled & have never had any complaints, but if I were you I would stick with gold, rhodium, or stainless steel. I believe most people have had trouble with the "sterling silver" rings because many of them have a copper alloy base & if your skin is sensitive to metals the acid reaction turns your fingers green. To the best of my knowledge this won't happen with my rings. However, these are not heirloom pieces. If taken care of they will last a long time, but they are not solid gold. Otherwise, they would sell for 200,000 points. Good luck to you & I hope you find just the right ring.
Deegan120, To help you understand the difference in plated & filled: Gold-plated jewelry is created using an electro-chemical process that places a layer of Gold on copper, brass, or some other base metal. The thickness of the Gold used in plating usually determines the price of the piece.
What Is Gold-filled Jewelry? Gold-filled is made from solid "Gold" and "filled" with other alloys. Gold-filled wears like solid Gold because its outer surface is solid Gold. Electroplating is NOT a part of this process. Gold-filled is created by using heat and pressure to fuse a layer of Karat Gold to copper, brass, or some other base metal. The bond produced is a permanent one.
