The listing, EMG-HZ pickup w vol knobs and input jack has ended.
This EMG-HZ pickup came out of my Jackson. When I switched to an EMG the knobs had to be switched over as well for whatever reason. These have been included as well as an input jack that came with the EMG but was unused.
Not real savy on the tech end. I can tell you that the emgs and the emghzs are not compatible with each other. Now my selector switch is a kill switch since I only did the bridge pickup. I'm told the hz is not a true active pickup even though my guitar had a battery in it. I can also tell you I spent x amount of dollars upgrading to the EMG and I didnt really notice much difference.
Could those tabs be for the battery for active pick ups? I have no idea about the wiring placement on actives, but they have to connect somewhere. Do you know the value on the pots(I'd like to know even if it doesn't pertain to the discussion, just out of curiosity, thanks)? I think that actives use 25k omega, (sorry I don't know how to make the omega sign on my computer yet). Of course, they could just make them for any possible use, whether guitars, amps, radios, pedals, so they may just have a one size fits all and any extras are meaningless on a guitar. I have them on my guitar, yet everything is just soldered and the tabs aren't even used.
