Well thank-you. Sorry to say that horse is long gone that photo was taken of me and King's Jess (a great grandson of King) about 40 years ago. I do love your Canadian Honkers and I would bid on those too but not for a thanksgiving dinner. LOL Already a fan and good luck hope you win. Gave a +1 for the comment it was an attention getter.
Wow a decendant of King? How cool! I had quate horses about 40 yrs ago too. Used to ride them up & down the banks of the north mississippi river with my friends on the back. Those geese are in my front yard waiting for hubby to leave minnows as there is still much ice on the river as you can see. They are wild and mama on the right laid her eggs that night in the marsh behind my house. They came back a few days ago & I call them Millie & WIllie. They are pretty mean actualy. The cats don't mess with them..lol.. I have a tree I sit in by there and watch them with my binocculars. it is so fun to see the little ones when they go in the river for first time. Then I don't see them til next spring
I'm impressed you knew who King was. It was a shot in the dark on my part. Unfortunately horses are from a past era. There was a time everybody knew how to ride. Most have no clue the real power & beauty of the animal. The feel of the animal underneath you is something than can only be experienced not explained. I guess that's why engine power is measured in horse power. Yeah I know geese can be very mean been chased a couple of times myself. What part of the Mississippi? I lived in the Quad Cities for a while. Maybe I'll list some fishing gear for hubby to bid on.
Horses are from a past era for sure. People have no understanding of their animals these days. I grew up in marquette iowa then i moved downstream to the canal in le claire iowa then i have lived in california for 30 years & now i am in north wisconsin on the wolf river for the coldest winter on record. My neighbors have quarter horses and I ride them while they are traveling on occasion. For me, there is nothing better than a good trail horse as I like to "mosey" down the path. They also have a tennessee walker that they are having pro trained. She is so sweet and always comes to the fence to see me for an ear scratch..lol..They plan on showing her maybe. She is more like a pet to them & they take such good care of all their animals. They are old school
I like the "mosey" I too have horses next to my backyard. They belong to my neighbors but I go to the barn quite often just to nuzzle LOL anyhow hope you win JJ Watt
