The listing, HD Converter Box w/Remote & Cables - Model DTA800B1 has ended.

Used, HD Converter Box. I do have the remote, it is just not in the picture. Comes with all the cables needed other than the RF cable. It is model DTA800B1.

This was purchased new by us a few years ago when all the conversion was going on. Since then we bought a HDTV and do not need it anymore.

i have direct tv and my tv is not HD will this make my tv have the same HD as my husbands he has an HDTV. Just dont want to pay 200 dollars to upgrade my directv box so was wondering. Thanks

If you are hooked up to Direct TV, you do not need this box. This is for people who do not have Cable or Satellite and own an older TV. This gives access to the HD converted local chanels that are being broadcasted today. Like CBS, Fox, PBS - not the Satellite or Cable Chanels. In the newer TVs, this is basically built in. If you want the HD chanels from Direct TV, you unfortunately will have to pay for it.

The RF cable is the cable that hooks your TV to an Antenna. They are not that expensive and you can get the pretty much anywhere they sell electronics ---- or --- you can look at my other auctions, I have one listed :)

Yes you have to be able to hook it up to your TV - and - as far as the antenna, it just depends on where you live how well your rception is. But, the box serves as an amplifier in a way.
