Description

The listing, Kalanchoe AKA Mother of Thousands AKA Mexican Friendship Succulent has ended.

This auction is for 25 leaflets. They are the babies that grow on the tips of several species of Kalanchoe. They will already have little roots when you get them. Just toss them into a pot with soil, sprinkle a little soil on top (no need to cover them) and spray soil with water until moist.
They enjoy full to partial sunlight. Well draining soil. I water mine once a week. They grow equally well inside or out and are pretty drought resistant. I would say optimal growing temp should be between 75 and 85 degrees F. Some species grow flowers, though none of mine has as of yet. Still hoping though. Beautiful, full leaves. Great self propagator.

I have read articles that claim all species of Kalanchoe are toxic when ingested by pets and children alike. I have had no problems with it and I have a very curious kitty and keep her cat grass very near this plant.

If it gets to freezing or below in your area, you will definitely need to cover them with thick fleece or bring them in during the winter. I live in Texas, Zone 8 and I lost several this year due to mild freezing, however, there were also some survivors. This is a succulent and as such, it will freeze easily and turn to mush upon thawing. There were some very sad days for me this winter :(

are these more or less, like sedum or african violets, and have you been able to root the large fan leaves?

Similar to these in that they root very easily. I have not tried to root the large fans from these, but I have had large leaves fall off my Devil's Backbone variety and they rooted, so I assume these probably would too.
