winter melon grows like watermelon. I would not plant both at the same time or close to each other for fear of cross polinating. wintermelon is used in many Asian and Indian dishes. It can be baked, boiled, eaten fresh, made into soup is my favorite or curry dishes. there is more recipes and information on youtube if that helps.
