The listing, Genuine 9ct Blue Star Sapphire Solid .925 Sz 8.5 Lady's Ring has ended.

This is a gorgeous antiqued size 8.5 genuine 9ct star sapphire marquise cut cabochon set in solid sterling silver by me :D

I'm a wire jewelry designer/instructor and have also been learning soldering recently. I've been passing on what I learn to my students as well. With that said, the ring is not as perfect as I expect it to be (perfectionist), but it's still really nice!

Mother bought a few sapphires in Thailand when I was a child some uh... some 50+ years ago... and gave me first pick for whichever gems I wanted a couple years ago and it's time to let go! It has a fine 6-leg star!

I used fine .999 silver for the pointed tip bezel wire holding the gem, twisted 2 strands of square .925 wire before twisting those together to give the rope/diamond cut appearance, fancy feminine pattern shank (band) wire, and soldered all to .925 sterling sheet. So the entire piece was created with solid silver!

I hallmarked the band with .925 in the center where I soldered it to the top. Then I forgot and without my glasses thought it was a mar and worked hard to remove it. When I finally realized it, the 9 was gone, haha! I hallmarked it again a little lower on the band and that hallmark is perfect :D

After spending a long time sanding, buffing, and polishing the silver, I scrubbed it well and dipped it in a Liver of Sulfur solution to give it an antiqued appearance. I love the contrast between bright and dark silver as it gives it depth and interest!

The ring will come in a lovely red velvet ring box & protected package with tracking. I ship to the entire USA + APOs within a single day of auction end unless there Is a family emergency.

I give a free 1 year warranty on the metal and workmanship for all of my crafted jewelry regardless of how it is damaged. I want my recipients to love and wear my creations!

Thank you for the nice comments :) To resize this ring, the sapphire would have to be removed first. Then the band will be cut and a piece added to it. The band is made with a floral pattern and impossible to match with a spacer.

I do have another sapphire similar except it is a little larger... 10ct. It is just as nice!
Another thought about sizing the ring, if the sapphire is removed, then the band could be cut off, and a new one could be soldered back on before replacement of the sapphire.
