Description

The listing, Enchanted Arms XBox 360 RPG * Ubisoft has ended.

This listing is for a previously owned copy of "Enchanted Arms" for the XBox 360. This is one of the first (or possibly THE first) RPGs for the XBox 360.

I bought the game from Gamestop, so I can't tell you how many people have handled it. It plays fine, however.

The game has some light scratches, and the case has some sticker residue from the Gamestop price tag. The case also has some small knicks in the plastic. I have also found a big crack going along the bottom seam of the back cover. I missed this before because it isn't obvious at first.

The also comes with the booklet, which is in fair-to-good shape. it has some bends near the top, and when I flipped through it the pages are somewhat crumpled near the bottom (this could be from mishandling, or it could have gotten wet and the pages dried. I'm not sure).

Shipping is free for the US. I will ship international, but you will have to pay for it (I won't offer free shipping for international under any circumstances. Sorry, but I did that once and had nothing but problems come from it).

*****EDIT***** PLEASE NOTE: I just found a crack on the bottom of the back part of the case. It looks as though someone may have stepped on it. I did not notice this before because it is along the seam and not obvious on first glance.

How much for international shipping? Specifically, to Israel?

According to the USPS website, I can ship it 1st Class International (delivery time varies) for $7.00 or Priority Mail International (delivery time 6-10 days) for $24.50. All the other options are pretty expensive.

Also, please note that I found some damage on the case and updated the description with it. It was in a place that made it hard to notice at first.

Well, I can only give you my opinion, and keep in mind I only played it for about an hour or so (I decided it wasn't my type of game). The little CG I saw looked pretty nice. Quick Time Events could have have been better; instead of animating the characters having their conversations, stills would appear on the screen (like cardboard cutouts or something). I've seen worse, but it certainly couldn't hold a candle to something Square Enix makes.

IGN gave it a pretty good review, though: http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/729/729488p1.html

And you can find a bunch of videos showing off the graphics here: http://media.xbox360.ign.com/media/747/747936/vids_1.html

From the little I played, I can tell you it's a VERY Japanese game. If you like the typical approach JRPGs take with characters, you probably will like this, but nothing seemed exactly groundbreaking.

Since this does look a little animey - is it really flashy like strobing lights type of stuff? Thanks!

I can't speak for most of the game since I didn't get far in it, but what I saw didn't seem that way. It opens with a CG action scene that didn't seem all that... uh, 'stroby'.

The non-CG dialog parts reminded me a lot of the Phoenix Wright games, in the way they show the upper body of the person talking but just animate their eyes or mouth. So in that case, there's barely even any movement, let alone strobe effects. :)

But yeah, it definitely is anime-like in story and design. Just the hour I played, it was clear the writers loved their tropes.

A little more opinion from what I played: the story set up is more like FF8 (there's magic, but it seems set in a modern world rather than a fantasy D&D-style one).

If you like RPGs such as Bioshock, Mass Effect, etc. you almost certainly won't like it.

If you like JRPGs like the Final Fantasy series... you might like it. It could go either way.

If you like JRPGs that use a lot of tropes (i.e. typical plot devices / characteristics), you will like it. In typical anime fashion, you have the carefree lazy hero, the serious but often sought after friend, the over-the-top gay character used for comic relief, etc. Nothing wrong with this type of story, but as I said before it's hardly ground breaking.

I would strongly recommend watching those IGN videos, though. Seeing it in action, especially any non-CG story parts, will give you a better idea of what this game is like.
