The 3-pin connector on the Thermaltake Volcano 12 was ripped out. This doesn't effect the use of the CPU cooler as it requires the 4-pin connector to power on. However, most motherboards have a warning system in place to not fully boot unless there is a fan plugged into the 3-pin CPU header. Fortunately, you should be able to disable this warning in BIOS without a problem.

Couldn't really tell you. I know the Thermaltake heatsink's were probably about $30 each when they were purchased 10-12 years ago but I've got no idea about the other ones.

You must have bumped your head if you think it would only cost $5 to ship these. It's being shipped in a medium flat rate box and if it were shipped normal priority mail it would cost even more as the package weighs over 6 pounds.
