FREE: Soapwort Seeds

This grows in abundance around my house and yard, so I figured I'd share :) This auction is for 10+ seeds, harvested from last year.

Though it's an annual plant in my zone, it reseeds itself *easily* and can tend to get a little out of control... so perhaps keep it in a less organized area of your yard, or someplace you don't mind letting it run wild!

Soapwort is quite useful, and can be used to make liquid soap, laundry detergent, and shampoo. I use this basic all purpose recipe -

Soapwort Liquid Soap Recipe

2 Cups of chopped fresh soapwort leaves and stems
1 Quart distilled water
Add soapwort leaves to boiling water and cover the pan.
Continue simmering for fifteen minutes.
Remove from the heat and cool.
Strain through cheesecloth.
You can keep the liquid up to a week in the refrigerator. (I can mine in quarts and it keeps fine almost indefinitely)
