Hi bdebbie2012, there isn't a year on the coin from either side of the coin. Allot of the writing on the coin is of another code or language. I will do some more investigating and if I find it I will let you know as soon as I can. Thanks and that was a good question. DaWayne

Extra information: I don't know how it was handled before I received it but it did come in a clear plastic case to protect it. I have had it out of case but have only handled it with cotton gloves. It will be shipped in a plastic coin case but the case may have scratches on. If I can find a case that is not scratched I will send it in it. Thanks for looking and watching my auction and I will send it the next day after auction ends if I receive your LIstia mail address. You come through for me and I will come through for you.
