What is the storyline in this Megaman game?

This is Megaman X remake for psp, the original was on Super Nintendo.

This game is set 100 years after the original megaman titles in 21XX, A virus known as the Maverick virus infecting many reploids (Robots) the Maverick hunters was formed in this team includes Megaman X (simply called X in the series) and Zero the main characters for the X series. An ex-Maverick Hunter Named Sigma has been infected and turned maverick and is leading the mavericks to over-turn human rule. As Megaman X with the help of Zero you are to stop Sigma and his 8 generals.

I believe that is a good enough set up for the game. The same basic megaman set up from the original titles but no more Dr. Wiley(well if you continue the series you see mention of him.) and hidden armor to find add new game play mechanics.
