You could be right!
I am not a military expert.
In the same trunk they came out of there was a ww2 bayonet which I sold on ePlay. That's what I based my assessment on.
Also, Waterbury Button company changed it's name to Waterbury Companies, Inc in 1945. My buttons are marked Waterbury Button Co so they are made in 1945 or earlier.
Thanks for your comment

All comments are more than welcome. Everyone's opinion will be dealt with respect. I've been playing with antiques and collectibles for 48 years. I've been researching the interweb since Al Gore invented it!. I've been on ePlay since 1998. I am pretty sure I have a handle on how I present my auctions. The Doctor is not infallible but he is pretty darn close.
Enjoy my auctions...

The National Defense Service Ribbon was first issued in 1954 (on right side of bar)
The mystery is the Armed Services Ribbon which was not issued until 1981.
These ribbons were loose in the trunk though and there were many other items that I am keeping

I believe the Army Overseas Ribbon is Black Blue Yellow Red Yellow Blue Black.
But, at any rate Thank you for your service to out great country.
I spent 12 years in the Navy 1965-1977
1022 days of which were spent 600 feet under water.
I was a 12 patrol FBM Submariner and I have a certified Insane certificate to prove it!

I am positive it is what is known as the Armed Services Ribbon.
I have a database of every medal and ribbon ever issued.
The Medal of Honor was the first award to be established in regulations as a permanent Army decoration, complete with benefits. The Medal of Honor is the only Civil War era award which has survived as a decoration into the modern age.

Actually, the ribbons are worth about $1.00 each. I just added them for color.
The vintage buttons are worth from $1 - $3 each
The US pin may be worth $2 -$3
The marksman medal surely is worth $2
But, the Flaming Bomb Ordinance Pin is worth all of the rest put together.
That's my opinion, and I'm sticking to it!
