The teapot holds 16 ounces, and the cup 8 ounces. It does not indicate that it is microwave or dishwasher safe, however Capriware are made to be used, but hand washed. Heating the water and putting it in the teapot to steep is the normal usage. I ship a lot of fragile things on EBAY, and will guarantee safe delivery.
