Description

The listing, Heirloom ✽ PURPLE RUSSIAN ✽ Paste Tomato ✽ 15 Seeds ✽ Organic has ended.

This is a Russian heirloom tomato from the Ukraine. The regular leafed plant produces huge amounts of purple-red, plum-shaped tomatoes with a blemish-free skin and excellent sweet flavor. This added a whole new dimension to my marinara and salsa this year. This topped the charts for one of the best tasting tomato of our growing season. Wonderful!

Days: 80
Size: indeterminate
Season: mid-season
Color: mahogany
Type: OP Heirloom
Uses: salsa, paste, salads, fresh eating

This Auction: You will be receiving 15 seeds from my garden. They will be sent First Class mail for FREE in the United States. I only take Paypal for International bidders. I will also combine any additional auction seeds (within 5 days) for no additional shipping charge. I am happy to say that my seeds tested 99-100% germination within 2 weeks at a temp of 65°F in the spring. Excellent for beginners!

Propagation Method: From seed, sow seeds indoors 6 weeks before last spring frost. Sow 2-3 seeds per pot and thin to one plant per container. After four weeks, transplant seedlings to larger pots, and about 10 days before the last spring frost, begin hardening the plants to the outdoors. Transplant your plants to a sunny, highly composted location when soil temperatures are at least 55 to 60 degrees Fahrenheit. Stake or cage the plants for support and to prevent sprawling on the ground.

Will these do well in Florida?

I can't say that I know that for certain. Usually tomatoes from a northern region like Russian or Ukraine do better in a northern region of the U.S., but they might do fine in Florida. I'm not sure.

I just want everyone that gets my seeds to succeed in the garden. I have heard that all the miniature Currant tomatoes do well in your zone.
