The listing, Polished Agate Stones & Kona Dolomite Rock ~ Perfect For Wire Wrapping has ended.
The winner chooses 1 of the 5 stunning stones in the photographs. The winner chooses 2 if the bids exceed 3,000.
These 5 flat stones came from a collection that spanned over 40 years and sat untouched since the 1980's until now! Note: these are stones and some have natural inclusions/ internal flaws. Please see the photographs for details.
1. This is a beautiful stone of brown/ black/ yellow/ white with transparent areas and beautiful designs. It is Montana Agate. Approximately 1 3/4" x 1".
2. The brown/ tan stone with pink striping is Kona Dolomite. This is amazing rock comes from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. It is estimated to be over 2 billions of years old. Kona Dolomite is made of tiny fossil stromatolite- blue/ green algae. These stromatolite formations are some of the first life on Earth. Kona Dolomite comes in an array of colors and patterns, from pink, brown, yellow, cream, red/ orange with brown, cream, gray, and green. It is amazing to see all the variety and realize it's all the same- Kona Dolomite! Approximately 1 1/2" x 2/3".
3. The stunning green stone with tan borders... is Confusionite- has me a little confused to identification, possibly a Jasper. It has what I would describe as a small chip in the side. Approximately 2 1/4" x 1".
4. The brown/ orange/ and red stone- I believe is Kona Dolomite as well. I have been to the local and have every color of Kona Dolomite in my personal collection. It appears to have a chip from the side- this is a small crystal formation. Approximately 2 1/4" x 3/4".
5. The tear shaped stone has a beautiful transparent design with very dark brown/ red/ black coloring. It appears to be an Agate. Approximately 1 3/4" x 1/2".
I grouped this variety together because I can easily see any any 1 of these finished in a wire wrap pendant or drilled to add a bale.
