Haha, I think about half of major league pitchers use pine tar or some form of substance anymore. I think both Buchholz and Lester both had it on there hands in the World Series against the Cardinals. I guess some are better then others about not getting caught. It's funny too because the opposing teams never complain, probably because they know their guys are using it too. Lol.

I agree but it's one of those MLB little secret things that's just not discussed. I am sure there are guys that use it every start who are not caught. I find it funny that the RedSox complained about it, they are well known as being some of the worst users. It's just a matter of time before the Yankees now call out one of the RedSox starters.

The only thing mp is guilty of is getting caught, in such obvious ways. I have no doubt most pitchers do the same stuff they just have an I.Q. above 40 and hide it. Inside of the belt, under the brim, or if your catcher is like most he dabs some on his shin guards and scoops a little on the ball before tossing back. I am also sure most infielders keep some on their gloves. That is why you do a toss around.
