My brother has a DSHS phone, along with my girlfriend and they are different. They are all different all depends on what company you filled out the paper work with that is contracted with the state- Safelink, assurance or yourtel wireless those three companies are the ones.I know this because I have donated time at two different food banks in Normandy Park and Des Moines I also help people out with understanding the paperwork, I also make them aware that they have this benefit. Some people do not know this information. All of the phones are the same. Different companies buy them and put there name on them.I really hate to make you look stupid but there is some ignorance there obviously. My roommate got this phone free when he bought his first month with virgin/Paylo so I think I would know what I am talking about before you look so stupid. Then again that is what you get when you ASSUME things that you do not really know.Be careful accusing people of things when you really do even have a clue.Yes it is the same type of phone that one of the companies gives out with that plan. They do not own it..If you ever paid attention Samsung, Motorola, Kyocera,Alcatel and all the names that you see on the phones are all the same phones.Or did you think that they were all different phones on different plans with different companies. Most likely you did.By the way I work for a living.
I just asked my roommate and he said it might be trac. I think you are right. Before he said it was virgin or something. Did you call? I take it trac is like Tmobile.
OK..here's a clarification on T-Mobile... T-Mobile branded phones are subsidy locked. Meaning you can't take it to another provider unless you unlock it. Usually via a unlock code. For a small fee (about $20.) You can unlock it yourself and take it to any gsm service provider. I have done this with many Samsung phones in the past and all have worked flawlessly. Galaxy series phones all have the master code in the firmware all you need is a hex editor and some knowledge of where to look.
That makes sense cause my girlfriend did take a tmobile cell and took it to metro and they did it.I guess that is smart for them cause if they do not unlock it then you have to buy a new one.
All cellphone companies have the ability to put a subsidy lock on there branded phones. Just Google (phone model, carrier and subsidy unlock) this will get you to the procedure for unlocking most phones.
