Description

The listing, First Act ME 455 Electric guitar has ended.

This is a First Act ME 455 electric guitar. Don't let the brand fool you, the brand snobs would have you believe it's not good, but that's far from the truth. When properly setup, they're good, maybe even great guitars, especially for the price paid. I have the action quite low on this one, as the side shot of the neck shows. That's about as low as it can go without fretting out, but you might get it just a tad lower ... there's room on the saddles to lower it a bit more or raise it up ... however you like it. The neck is straight, except for a bit of bow put in it on purpose to allow for string relief. If you don't know what that is, the strings need a little room to vibrate to make any sound. If they neck doesn't have just a little bit of bow to it, then the action either has to be high, or the strings will have a lot of fret buzz in them. The only thing I can find wrong with this guitar is there's a pretty good ding right in the middle of the back. Being black it won't show up in the photos, but it's definitely there. Doesn't effect anything, but you should know what you're getting. Now, if you like a thin, narrow neck like on a telecaster or Strat, this isn't that. It's a bit chunky, but I happen to like them that way, i have big hands, they work better for me. However, this could easily be a student's first electric, it plays very easily, easier than most acoustics because of the low action. Intonation is okay, but you could get it closer if you feel like bothering with it. I didn't so I left it where its at, it's not bad, but very picky musicians would want it a bit closer. Intontation is never actually perfect up and down the fretboard, this one is set so it's best intonated at the headstock end of the neck, that's a personal preference since that's where most of the real playing happens. No, I will not provide free shipping, not for any amount of points. Just not going to happen, so don't ask. I will limit the shipping price to 30 dollars, paypal only.

How come when others put up cheap guitars with no information, and only one picture, they get lots of comments, bids, and all that? I try to tell you folks everything I know about it, put up lots of good pictures, and I get nada, how come? Maybe I should do like some do, one picture, say nothing and not answer questions. Maybe I would get more response.

The actual shipping charge might be 35 to 40, or it could be less. If it's substantially less, I'll refund the difference, but will keep a little for bubble wrap and tape, that's not free you know.

actually, this one plays stronger. You'd think two pickups would beat one, but not in this case. The paint is factory.

I paid cash money for it. If I'm going to list it, I want a good amount of points for it. That's okay, when this listing is done, that's it I'm not relisting.

It needs a good home. Oddly, somebody tried to sell me one exactly like it today. I told him I can't even give em away.

I wish that I had the credits for this, I would gladly take on this guitar and give it a very loving home, but being that I am on short supply of credits right now I am severely bummed out about it. This is a beautiful musical instrument, it is just too bad that it may not get a loving home as it deserves.

I've got another one like it, without the fancy paint, just gloss black. It's even stronger playing. I have it up on that "other" site, the one with all the fees.

Hadn't planned on it, but it does make sure it ships cheaper. most people tend to like to receive them ready to play.

blake, is that on electric? That's just not possible unless you're really abusing it. Does happen frequently on some of their low end acoustics, but is usually an easy fix. If you're continually breaking the bridges, there's something wrong with how you're handling them. Sometimes, they don't get enough glue on them and they come off, but if you're actually breaking them, that's something else entirely. I don't see how that's at all possible with an electric, anyway. There are at least six screws holding it on. You'd have to beat it terribly before one of these would come off, more than likely breaking the body first. Were they the ME something models? They're better than the ones with no model number on them.

I have several electric guitars , A First Act and a Stagg with the very same bridge on them and sometimes when I get into a heavy metal rif I beat on the guitar real hard and never had one break or even get lose , the only thing that breaks are the stings .. lol ..
