I bought these seeds from Tomatofest.com for this year's crop. I've planted what I need and they're already sprouting (second picture)! Open-pollinated seeds sent to me from a California gardener in 1999. An indeterminate plant yielding big crops of 2 1/2" -3", red, round fruits. Because this was such a good producer of delicious fruit I maintained this variety in our annual seed trials. However, Since I was partial to the heirloom tomato varieties that stood out I didn't give this tomato the attention it deserved. This is a great canning, salsa and salad tomato that produces more fruit per plant than many tomato varieties.

Heinz Classic Heirloom plants bear fruit all season long, but ripen the heaviest portion of the crop in summer. Stake these vigorous plants for best results and easiest harvesting. Space plants 36 inches apart in conventional rows, 24 inches in intensive gardens. Tuck one plant into a half whiskey barrel or similar size large pot. Resistant to verticillium wilt (V) and fusarium wilt (F).
