This is a wonderful vintage black chef figure pepper shaker from the 1940s or 1950s. The Chef is made of white ceramic and is book shaped so that it will stand side by side in a row with the others in the set. The face is dark brown with large eyes. The chef is wearing a white coat and hat accented in a red bow tie, blue hints in the apron and holding a rolling pin. The shaker holes are located on the tops of the hat. The bottom of the shaker is stamped "JAPAN". The original cork still in place. The shaker measure 3.25" (8.3 cm) tall, 1.25" (3.2 cm) wide and 2.25" (5.7 cm) thick. There is no crazing in the glaze and a few very small chips. (See pictures)This vintage shaker is in great vintage condition and would make a wonderful addition to any kitchen or collection.
