The listing, Organic Dark Purple Opal Basil 40+ Seeds 2014 has ended.
Organic Basil Dark Opal Purple, 40+ seeds from 2014 stock. I finally found an additional package, and grabbed it.as the package says annual, but in Zone 8, acts like a eperennial herb, (and easy grow and to propagate.) They've over-wintered outside beautifully in big clay pots. One of the most popular herbs for fragrance and seasoning. I use it in soups, stews, roasts, pasta, pesto, etc. Use fresh or dried. Grow in containers or raised beds. These from one of the most well-respected seed companies. We only eat organic food, much of which he have raised. All food we grow is organic. We use no pesticides, fungicides, or toxic chemicals . We "fertilize" with compost we make, ourselves, with worm castings from worms we raise, and sometimes use organic fish If we have to buy commercial soil, we buy high grade organic with a least 5 sources and no sludge. Basil likes to be planted 1/8" deep in full sun. If necessary, thin to 10" apart, I do 5 or 6". There's is a tremendous amount of information on the Internet or contact your extension agent. I did cover them when the temperature went below 40 degrees, but they thrived all winter & have grown like gangbusters since we've had warmer weather. Your seeds will come wrapped in "If You Care" parchment, then put in a small plastic bag . I would suggest removing the plastic bag and putting the parchment in a small glass jar, then store in the refrigerator until ready to plant--as soon as frost danger is past. One of the prettiest basils with awesome flavor. Use fresh, dried, or freeze in ice cube containers with filtered water. I only mail to verified Listia addresses. Shipping is free. I take PsyPsl and Walmart money orders if you want tracking . Please contact me with questions. Have a great week !
