At some point in the year of 1982 the US Government discontinued the copper penny & started producing a penny that was a zinc base with a thin copper layer cause the cost of copper exceeded the cost of the penny.

Although it's been said a few pennies have slipped out of the mints without the copper coating in error it's safe to say you and I both will never see one.
These particular pennies I have personally chemically removed the thin copper layer.

I think their neat and a fun talking point when sharing & showing your collection.

I thought I'd share these three with my fellow listians and depending on how well their received I may list some more.

Don't ask me how I did it because it's a dangerous process and I would hate to hear of anyone becoming blind as a result of trying etc.
